The 47th running of the Irish Oaks was held on Wednesday 23rd July 1941 over 1 1/2 miles of The Curragh, starting at the Howth Post. A pot of 2000 sovereigns was availble, 300 sovereigns to the second and 200 sovereigns to the third. The winner was owned by Sir Thomas Dixon, trained by Wellesley, and ridden by Thomas Burns. The winner won by 6 lengths, with 4 lengths between second and third. |
